BIOGRAPHY _ Nkeng AlemanjiI wanted this to feel like you and I were having a conversation, so I wrote this Biography using first person (I), instead of third person (he).Iused to fall asleep with the radio on...
I was born in Cameroon in 1977 – to a civil engineer, and a teacher – my Dad’s a funny and brilliant gentleman, and my Mom’s a giving, intelligent lady. (I was born early in February ‘77, when it was still ‘the year of the Dragon’, in the Chinese lunar calendar – so I’m on to great things (ha ha))
When I was seven months old, my parents moved the family to Canada. There I heard songs by artists like Paul Simon, Prism, ABBA, John Denver, and… the Smurfs! (ha ha) My mom (who enjoys country music) also played Don Williams, and Dolly Parton records. Listening to these artists, I believe, is where I began to learn the art of songwriting. [full bio]
